GUITAR LESSONS
ABOUT
Guitar & me
I began playing guitar in 2009 as a self-taught musician, diving into the music of bands like Blink-182, All Time Low, and Green Day. My passion for music led me to join the pop-punk band Almost Maine, where I played rhythm guitar from 2012 to 2018 during which I was sponsored by the guitar maker Moniker.
Fast-forward to 2021 and I was accepted into both the University of Colorado Denver's Singer/Songwriter program and their Recording Arts program — an audition based admission — with my cover of John Mayer's "Neon," and I had the privilege of playing in the University's Signature Jazz Guitar Ensemble in 2023 and 2024.
My Teaching philosophy
Since November 2022, I've been sharing my passion for guitar through personalized lessons. Whether you're just starting or aiming to refine your skills, my lessons are tailored to help you achieve your musical goals. My approach is hands-on and flexible, allowing you to learn at your own pace while enjoying the journey. I cover a variety of genres, including rock, pop-punk, jazz, and more, so you can explore the music that speaks to you.
I believe that a solid foundation is key to becoming a well-rounded guitarist. That's why my lessons emphasize not just playing, but also building a strong base in music theory, learning to read music, and developing ear training skills. Understanding the "why" behind the music allows you to express yourself more freely and creatively on the guitar. Whether you're aiming to write your own songs, jam with others, or simply enjoy playing, these essential skills will give you the tools to take your playing to the next level.
Join me in your guitar journey, and let's make your musical dreams a reality!
