My name is David, and I am a musician, audio engineer, photographer, and graphic designer with a passion for creativity in all its forms.

Music

My musical journey began in 2012 when I founded the pop-punk band Almost, Maine. We gained traction in the Denver music scene, releasing a 13-song LP titled Stories in 2017 and touring as far as California and Chicago. We also had the exciting opportunity to open for Cage the Elephant at Big Gig in 2016 and were proudly sponsored by SJC Drums and Moniker Guitars. In 2021, I pursued a double major in Singer/Songwriter and Recording Arts at the University of Colorado Denver. During my time there, I played in the CU Denver Signature Jazz Ensemble and collaborated with talented musicians like Paul Musso, Evan Shelton, Drew Morrell, and Pete Ellingson. I graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts. Since then, I’ve launched new musical projects, including my pop endeavor FLORAL* and the Lo-Fi project Capybara LoFi. I also began teaching guitar and piano full-time in November 2022.

Audio Engineering

I run my own recording studio, Luminous Beings Audio, where we specialize in recording, mixing, mastering, and producing records. We also assist new artists with their music careers, offering guidance from pre-release to post-release, and provide live sound reinforcement for events like weddings. I take great joy in designing acoustic spaces and delving into the nuances of how sound interacts with the world.

Photography

My photography journey started in 2021 during a road trip with my good friend Peter, who introduced me to using a DSLR. Since then, I’ve created annual photography books that combine my images with reflections on the life philosophy I’ve gained each year. Photography has become a way for me to practice mindfulness, capturing the small details and natural patterns that often go unnoticed.

Graphic Design

I discovered graphic design in high school and have been involved in various projects ever since. I designed this website and have had several designs sell well on RedBubble. I also created all the merch designs for Almost, Maine and designed my business cards. You can explore my graphic design work under the "Graphic Design" tab.

Hobbies and Interests

When I’m not working on my various creative projects, you can find me enjoying D&D with my weekly group or diving into the Star Wars universe—especially the Andor series, where I’ve even won two trivia tournaments. I’m an avid gamer with a love for Tunic, Inscryption, Return of the Obra Dinn, Blade & Sorcery, and the original Halo games up to Halo: Reach, but my all-time favorite is Outer Wilds. I also have a soft spot for board games, with Eldritch Horror being a recent favorite. I cherish summer for hiking, attending concerts at Red Rocks, and paddleboarding.
